My Sallie Mae Loan
The school that I went to showed me in the direction of Salle Mae after it was shown that as far as government money there would not be much there since I am not on the list of ethnic groups the government deems necessary to lift up. I also at 30k a year was making far too much for aid (depending on where you live it may not be much). I am fine with the circumstances that led me to seek a loan for college I am just pointing out that there is a lot of different factors and sometimes you don’t get the best hand. Some socialist leaning people would say that public education is needed as a safety net for the children and yet the most important schooling when it comes down to the purpose of schooling (getting a job) the perks are dependent on government mandates and even how much money your parents make when you are under 24. Seriously have you ever been asked what high school or elementary school you went to on a job interview?
Ok so the interest on the money I have borrowed is accumulating while I to go to school in my case @ 24% and after I am done with school my rate was as high as 18%. and after a couple of years of paying these rape rates I am late once … it happens and it was just forgot to pay incident (it happens). Well Sallie Mae’s tactic is to put you into a computer auto dialer a few days after your due date. This dialer calls you a few times a day no matter what you tell the people on the other end . I pay my bills from an online bank that sends checks for me and SLM is not setup for electronic payments (probably because they want you to be late). So my check is in the mail and every day for a week these people are calling me and they will not stop because I am in their computer system. At the time I was working off hours and was sleeping during the day when there auto dialer was doing its evil deeds I explained this to them, and of course they would not stop so I had to turn my phone off for the rest of the week.
About a year later I decided to consolidate my Government loans and when I was going through the process I told the consolidation company (http://www.studentloansolutions.com/) that I did not want anything to do with Sallie Mae and of course after it was all said and done guess who now holds my government and private loan company. Now Sallie Mae screws up my the billing groups and applies my whole payment to one of the sub loans instead of all of them. Now I am back in this dam computer system again (not my fault this time) but yet they still are calling me multiple times a day forcing me to shut off my phone until they fix the problem.
I cannot stand this company .
